Love this pitcher

by Nathan Beauchamp 2009-04-29, 35 people found this review helpful
I cannot understand some of the complaints that I've seen in reviews of this pitcher. I've owned one for 2 years, and just bought a 2nd, and I've got nothing but good things to say about them. The filter works well and makes my normally chlorine smelling water as tasty as the best bottled water. I drink a LOT of water (120+ ounces a day) and my PUR pitcher has paid for itself many, many times over in its lifetime. I don't think the lid is troublesome at all as some reviewers have said, nor do I think that the shape is strange; to me it is perfect because it fits nicely along side a gallon of milk on the side rack of my refrigerator. The plastic is heavy duty enough to absorb some abuse, and the filters are very easy to exchange. All that is required is a quarter twist and they pop right out. I'd recommend washing the pitcher semi-frequently to keep it nice and clean, but other than that, it is about as low maintenance as you could ask for.

Great tasting water, solid design, relatively inexpensive filters, and 2 years of flawless use mean I can only give this product 5 stars. Don't hesitate, this is a fantastic water filter/pitcher.

Efficient, does the job

for under $20 it's hard to fault this filter. It filters more different things than the Brita does... if the Brita meets your needs, buy it. I like the extra assurance and have never had a problem with speed of filtering unless the cartridge is old. It's been sitting in the door of my refrigerator for over a year now, quietly doing it's job.

New Filters Make the Difference

I bought this January 12, 2008 at a local Publix. I was about to buy another Deerpark Filtered Water Gallon and decided to go with this (I can't use the faucet attachment) I am impressed. It makes Atlanta water taste like Dasani, oh wait, Dasani is Atlanta water...but it tastes great! Much better than from the tap.

I've read the slow filter comments and PUR must have changed because I don't notice the slow filling. We're a family of three and the 7cup is perfect. I have the habit of filling the pitcher top with each glass of water. I mean I would be getting it from the tap otherwise right? No big deal. The pitcher has filtered the water by the time I need a fresh glass.

Fast, Fresh Water

by Tracy Oshima 2010-03-01, 4 people found this review helpful
I have had two of these PUR water pitchers for a few months now and don't have a single complaint. I store one in the fridge for cold water and another on the counter for room temperature. Both pitchers filter the tap water quickly resulting in great tasting water. I find it easiest to add tap water as the pitcher empties, rather than waiting until the pitcher is completely empty. On top of having a house full of fresh water, I am saving a ton of money now that I am no longer purchasing bottled water! I'd recommend this PUR watch pitcher to everyone.

Love my Pur Water Filtration Pitcher

I purchase Pur after reveiwing Zero and doing price comparisons on replacement filters. NO BRAINER! I found the 3 pack replacements filters at Wal-Mart for around $12.99 on sale. The Zero Water filters are close to $60.00. I have well water, cannot use in coffee maker, and this not only does the job...the water tastes great! Highly recommend, and am purchasing now as a gift for my mom!

Great value, great product

Was hesitant about purchasing this pitcher after some of the former negative reviews. I can only conclude that PUR has changed it's filtration system or manufacturing process or something, because I think this pitcher is GREAT!!

The water filters quickly and tastes fantastic. Pitcher is light-weight but very sturdy. Nicely balanced, no problems with lid falling off during pouring, and the shape fits nicely in my usually-overcrowded fridge.

I find that I'm MUCH more likely to reach for a glass of water (trying to cut out too many diet drink products) now that I have this cold, refreshing - and great tasting - source right at my fingertips. I would highly recommend this pitcher and would purchase again!

Tastes great less filling

We have used the pur filtration systems for years now and they always make great tasting water. I would recommend the pitcher, the faucet contraption or the the camping pump to anyone.

Pur filter is slow

by Occasional reviewer 2007-11-17, 13 people found this review helpful
This tiny pitcher takes over 8 hours sometimes to filter a load of water.

It gets a bonus star because I can pour it while it's still filtering, by holding the lid down with my hand.

EDIT 11-28-2007:
I bought a replacement Pur filter at Target. This one has a hole in the top of it that is supposed to improve water flow, and it sure does -- I can get two 8oz glasses of water out of it in less than 5 mins. I hope it's filtering properly, at that speed (it does taste good). So I'll leave my review at 2 stars until it becomes apparent that this pitcher is shipping with the improved filter, rather than the old slow one.

This is a SMALL Pitcher

Pur filters are great, just FYI - they're not kidding when it says
"Holds 7 8-ounce cups"

My fault really, I was looking for a 2-4 liter pitcher, which my friend had, and it looked exactly like the picture on the box, but in reality this is less than 2 liters.

I wish they would put the size by liters instead of cups. Each time I use it, I have to refill. Kinda annoying..

But other than the size you can't go wrong with a Pur filter.

As good as any Pur, plus free trial stuff.

This water filter worked as well for me as any Pur water filter has, and for only a couple extra dollars there were lots of fun trial items with this kit. This is the only reason I chose this kit over any other.
